Whatsapp merupakan sebuah aplikasi pesan yang cross-platform pada ponsel ,yang memungkinkan anda untuk bertukar pesan tanpa membayar biaya untuk sms. Aplikasi ini sebenarnya dibuat untuk Iphone, namun sekarang aplikasi ini bisa anda nikmati bagi anda pemilik ponsel dengan operating system Blackberry, Android dan Symbian.
Adapun fitur serta kelebihan yang disuguhkan Whatsapp adalah :
1. WhatsApp memiliki fitur yang bisa dibilang komplit, karena dengan Whatsapp selain kita bisa berkirim teks, kita juga bisa berkirim Gambar, Video, Suara, dan kerennya lago, kita bisa berkirim Lokasi GPS via hardware GPS atau Gmaps
2. Aplikasi Whatsapp terintegrasi ke dalam sistem, layaknya sms, kita dapat menerima pesan tanpa perlu membuka applikasi terlebih dahulu.
3. Aplikasi Whatsapp memiliki status pesan yang berupa tanda, tanda tersebut adalah :
- Jam Merah untuk Proses loading di HP kita
- Tanda Centang jika pesan terkirim ke jaringan
- Tanda centang double jika pesan sudah terkirim ke teman chat.
- Silang merah jika pesan gagal
4. Aplikasi Whatsapp memiliki fasilitas Broadcast dan Group Chat. Dimana dengan fasilitas broadcast, kita dapat mengirim pesan ke banyak pengguna, sedangkan fasilitas Group chat dapat kita gunakan untuk mengirim pesan ke anggota sesama komunitas.
5. Aplikasi Whatsapp tidak memerlukan login dan loading contact/avatar, sehingga dapa menghemat penggunaan Bandwidth
6. Aplikasi Whatsapp dapat dimatikan, dan hanya aktif jika ada pesan masuk, sehingga bisa menghemat baterai
Berikut langkah-langkah menginstal aplikasi Whatsapp di ponsel kita :
1. Terlebih dahulu kita download aplikasi Whatsapp, untuk mendapatkannya aplikasi ini, anda bisa mendownloadnya di sini:

Whatsapp symbian
Whatsapp blackberry
Whatsapp iphone
2. Masukkan kode negara. Indonesia kodenya (+62) --> +62 adalah pengganti angka 0
3. Masukkan nomor sisanya ( misal : 878 123 456 789)
4. Tunggu verifikasi dan notifikasi dari whatsapp.
5. Selesai. Done !
